Meet Qwerty and the gang

Qwerty Seymore is an ordinary teenager, raised by his uncle Matthew. His life is not a standard one, perhaps, but the boy is happy... Until his uncle dies of cancer - following that sad event, he must move to his aunt's house, to Poole, England. Only then he finds out he's not so ordinary, after all. Meet the main hero of the book:"Qwerty: The History", and his friends. All pictures are drawn by Gino.

4 reasons why Santa (potentially) breaks the law

Ever since we were little, we have been fed a myth - or if you prefer: a legend - about Santa Claus. It is an elderly, plump man, dressed in chilli-red, who only works one night a year, distributing presents among millions of children around the globe. Here are a few aspects of his actions that may just make you look at this eternal altruist from a slightly different perspective:

Qwerty: Adela's Story (extract)

I had a night in last night and whipped up this little chapter, after drinking almost entire bottle of my favourite wine (J.P. Chenet, Merlot, if you are looking for inspiration). It's fresh and unedited (story, not wine), but I thought you may like it (also, it's more adult content...). This is a part of Adela's tale (Qwerty's aunt). Just to give you some context: Qwerty Seymore has just been kicked out on the street by uncle Gibble, Adela's husband, for arguing with a teacher. This is the night the boy meets John White and finds out he is a telekinetic... (see the book: "Qwerty: The History")

First review of "Qwerty: The History" - an adrenaline shot

I have received the first opinion from a person who downloaded my book, "Qwerty: The History", on Kindle. This is what they wrote: "Great gripping read drew me into the world of Qwerty. I think you ARE A WRITER of yet more unexplored talent, best wishes for your success". This is the nicest thing anyone could say to me right now.

"Qwerty: The History" - a lucky escape?

Busy, busy, busy. Deadlines to meet and so on. However, I shall attempt to keep you entertained and for that reason, I am posting another short fragment of "Qwerty: The History". Enjoy (I hope you will):

Travel and writing - there is a catch

You are bombarded by stunning pictures of beaches, architecture, natural wonders and amazing sights that can be found around our globe. All the time. You dream of travelling. You'd love to quit your boring office job and go on that one perfect journey around the world. Preferably with a one-way ticket. You've watched and/or read "Eat, Pray, Love". You know what happens: you learn new languages and find love... Right?

"Qwerty: The History" - VIDEO

Have you got nine minutes? Probably not... But if, by any chance, you are willing to spare a moment, have a look at this post. I have prepared a video for you - it's me reading the beginning of my book entitled "Qwerty: The History". The sound is pretty bad and the quality is low, and there is no music, but hey, it's my first time... Having no idea about editing and filming, I downloaded basic Movie Maker yesterday and did it! I hope you get through the first two minutes...

Also, below I am placing the fragments I read, in case the video was unclear (as it probably is in places - again, my first time ever recording anything other than short holiday videos...)

The Language changes you...

All this writing business is a slippery subject as it is. But try doing it in two languages... That is what I have been practising for months and my brain is going into overload. After a while, you discover you don't distinguish what is supposed to be your native tongue from the one you acquired as your second. Frankly, I do not know what language I am reading. Or writing. The man came to install my Internet and I didn't recognise the fact that my system is not set to default English. He had to point it out.

The Wicked Wit of Insults

My eyes wandered today to the bookshelves with neatly arranged volumes; this has a soothing effect on my ever-restless soul. And they met no other but a rather inconspicuous, green-ish book entitled "The Wicked Wit of Insults" completed by Maria Leach. I bought it after splitting up with one bastard. They say you must make one final mistake before you get married. He was mine.
